Friends from the Seaside (Znajomi znad morza) is a project presenting Tricity artists in Wroclaw as part of the Koalicja Miast initiative, which includes Gdansk – the twinned town of the ECC Wroclaw 2016. The project is a combination of various ideas from the four people behind the All Inclusive collective building on their artistic, promotional, and curatorial experience.

Throughout the duration of the project, from noon till midnight, exhibitions, meetings, and film presentations are going to be held in our bookshop and our pub (Kurhaus and LAS). The events are going to take place in the building located at Rynek 25 street. The five-storey tenement house will be witnessing exhibitions, concerts, meetings with artists, film presentations, and discussions. On the ground floor, we are also going to have for you a café, a pub, and a bookshop.

In cooperation with the artists from Wroclaw and the visitors, the guests from Tricity are going to explore the motifs of urbanity, the life in Tricity, the sea, and tourism to create new artistic contexts.

The Friends from the Seaside concept ultimately brings us to the free spirit of Gdansk (the city’s genius loci), to its most organic aspect, that is the communality, the ability to act collectively at the intersection of different disciplines and work models.

The concept has been conceived by the group of curators making up the one-off All Inclusive collective working on the Gdansk presentation. They are authors and culture promoters from Gdansk: Emilia Orzechowska, Ania Witkowska, Sylwester Gałuszka, and Jakub Knera. The project is being produced by the City Culture Institute.
