Open IKM is a program for residents of Gdańsk who want to organise an attractive cultural or socio-cultural event at The City Culture Institute or in the city space. The organisers can count on financial support up to 3,000 PLN. Another call for proposals was launched on September 26th and lasts until October 14th.

The Open IKM Program allows the organisers of cultural events to implement ideas with financial, substantive and technical support of the institution. It has operated for six years, and during the pandemic it also enabled online activities. The City Culture Institute invites active city residents to submit proposals for activities in the autumn and winter season.

In the current edition of the competition, you can submit applications with ideas for activities to take place in The City Culture Institute seat (e.g. art, manual, ecological, literary, photographic workshops, meetings with authors, lectures, debates) or also activities that would take place partly in The City Culture Institute building, and partly in the urban space, e.g. field games, a photographic, topographic or literary walk. The catalogue of activities is open, the only limitation is the space conditions of The City Culture Institute.

– We are committed to opening cultural institutions and making our resources available. On the one hand, as The City Culture Institute, we implement our program of activities and events, and on the other hand, we want to respond to the initiatives and needs of the residents of the city – says Katarzyna Buczek – coordinator of the Open IKM Program. – From the beginning the program’s principles are transparent and, I hope, can activate new people who want to put their ideas for initiatives with us in practice. The value for the organisers is our substantive support – as a team we have different competences and experiences that we want to share – adds the coordinator.

Those of you who want to consult your ideas and ask for details, please contact us by e-mail or by phone at 798 377 354 or katarzyna.buczek@ikm.gda.pl on: 26, 27 or 30 September from 11.00-14.00 or 5-13 October from 15.00-17.00.

The results of the competition will be announced on October 24 on the website: otwarty.ikm.gda.pl. There are also the rules and conditions of the competition and the application template.
